Papanasam review

After vishwaroopam, I had a great time in seeing the movie Papanasam. Known fact is, this film is the remake of the malayalam hit drishyam casted by mohan lal and meena. In tamil, our favorite star, Dr. Kamal hassan played the leading role along with his real pair Gowthami tadimalla. 

This film is the family drama with thriller genre. Mainly, the plot runs between two families, Suyambulingam's (Kamal) and IG Geetha Prabhakar's (Asha Sharath). Also, this film sets an alarm for all the parents in raising their children properly.

The movie starts with the awesome natural scenery of the village Papanasam, thirunelveli district, Tamilnadu. Kamal hassan played as Suyambulingam who is a business man and maintaining a cable operations of his own. He finds good time chatting with his friend M.S.Bhaskar who is running a small restaurant in his town. Then comes his rhythmic cute family consisting of himself, his wife and 2 daughters. This is the family spending good time with conversation, enjoying with the family instead of television and smart phones. Suyambulingam is a cinema fanatic. He does not even interested to read newspapers. His family meant a lot to him.

A sudden unexpected blast attacks his family in the form of a varun , the son of IG Geetha Prabhakar,where Suyambulingam will be like a strong pillar to support them. He acts in a brilliant way and gives a tough competition for IG and her police force. All thrilling scenes must be watched in the theater which I don't want to reveal here. So, the story runs with lots of twists and turns with nail biting scenes which is properly screen-played by the director Jeethu Joseph.

Thus, the story discloses all the knots. Whether the family is saved from the storm? how his cinema helps in handling the problems before him? does IG and her family won? How does they react for suyambulingam's action? so, every questions are handled and answered properly.

Kamal hassan, as usual, lived as suyambulingam and played an astonishing role. Both the daughters have given tight competition to his father. Gowthami played her role well. But, her aged look was too obvious in the screen. All others played their part too well and strong thus making the film even more stronger and better.

This is a must watch movie. Everyone needs to watch this film in theater at least once which invites other directors to direct this kind of film in all languages. No doubt that this movie occupied its position in my favorite kamal hassan's movies list.
